Slender, torpedo-shaped body with a pink to reddish hue and subtle horizontal lines along the body. Fins are mostly transparent with a slight reddish tint. Males are slimmer and more brightly colored; females are rounder and paler.

Omnivorous; feeds on high-quality flakes, micro pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and microworms. Occasionally supplement with finely chopped or blanched vegetables for color enhancement.
